I am currently creating a series of unfinished porcelain collections titled GILLREAM, where I foreground an individual (or personal?) sin (or a sense of guilt?) and attempt to transform it into a will to live.

To purify ostentation
For me, it was nothing less than a sin to try to exaggerate who I am.
However, when I wore what I truly believe is beautiful,
I was satisfied with vigor and joy to live in the world.

Self love
To purify self-love
It was a sin
to love me in the face of the absolute being.
A gesture that a baby grasps a finger of an adult
seems like unconditional love and a promise of protection.
Since I did the same to me,
I have thought
someone may love me.

Aged snake
Evil for good
There's a myth that
The evil dragon has fallen to the bottom of hell
and been chained there for a thousand years,
awaiting the end of salvation.

Seto Novelty
The technique of Seto Novelty
"Novelty" is the name of ornaments and dolls, which is made by porcelain.
In Seto City, where I am based in, "Seto Novelty" was born and exported all over the world
early in the 20th century, following European figurine.
I've made use of the proceeded technique of Seto Novelty, which I improved
the skill of painting and casting at the traditional workshop of porcelain.
